Maker: Wittnauer.  Triple signed: Dial, Movement, Inside Caseback

Case:  Stainless steel case with snap caseback.  Excellent condition, recently polished preserving original lines.  Caseback signed Wittnauer Watch Co. Inc, Swiss, Stainless Steel.  Serial number: 45766549

Dial: White dial with applied hour markers.  Signed Wittnauer, Swiss.  30 Minute and 12 Hour dials with day and month registers.  Hand pointer to date chapter on perimeter of dial.  Some discoloration and staining, unevenness to upper right of dial.  See pictures for details.

Movement: Highly sought after and well regarded Valjoux 72C.  Chronograph signed Wittnauer Watch Co. Inc, 17 Jewels, AXA (Wittnauer’s Swiss code).  The center sweep timing hand resets to almost zero (it is actually at about 1/4 sec mark).  All chronograph and day/date /month complications work properly.  Fully serviced by our master watchmaker.

Condition:  Nice patina on a beautiful watch from the 1950s with a highly desirable Valjoux movement.

Band:  Genuine black crocodile, no stamped leather here.  This is a very, high quality strap.
