Description
Age: 1940′s
Maker: Rolex
Case: Chrome over base metal with stainless steel back. Original untouched condition. This has never been polished and it looks like it! Rolex collectors are known for being vintage purist who want everything authentic and original. I’ll leave it up to you whether you choose to polish the case, but you won’t find me messing with the original contours and lines on this beautiful case design. The case back shows appropriate wear and there is no visible reference number.
Fixed military lugs.
This is an incredibly rare reference. There are very few square or rectangular cased Rolex watches, and even fewer with the military dial with original radium paint. The combination has never before come up for sale in the public market in original condition (As I was researching this piece, I searched all of the major auction houses.)
Crown: Original unsigned crown. Chrome matches the case front.
Dial: Original, factory finished military Rolex dial with some beautiful patina on the luminous markers and hands. Appropriately signed “SWISS MADE” at 6 O’Clock.
Sub seconds dial
Crystal: Original Rolex glass crystal. Shows some minor scratches and wear.
Movement: This watch features a super reliable Rolex 15 jewel manual winding movement. It is appropriately double signed. My master watchmaker has performed a full inspection and servicing on this watch. The watch was completely disassembled, the appropriate parts were cleaned in the ultrasonic and then oiled using the finest quality Swiss Moebius oils. It was regulated and is keeping good time. This watch is not and has never been waterproof. Please take care to keep it dry. Except for the mainspring which was changed during the service, this Rolex has all of its original parts.
Dimensions: 35mm x 25 mm without crown. 16mm strap.
Band: Pictured on a handsome genuine Ostrich strap.
Shipping: Domestic shipping via FedEx air, fully insured. International orders, will ship via Fedex International.
