Description
Age: 1950s
Maker: Tudor
Case: Stainless steel case appears to have been polished, but retains all of its signature contours. Top of case contains reference numbers 7926. Bottom of case marked STAINLESS/STEEL 41921**
Crown: Twin, unsigned crowns. The top crown sets the alarm mechanism and winds the alarm mainspring, cleverly separated from the time-keeping mainspring, which is wound and set using the bottom crown.
Dial: Original, factory finished dial is a real beauty with nice patina. Signed “Swiss” at 6 O’Clock. Original hands have not been re-lumed. Note that this piece contains the correct, short arrow hand in red, which indicates the alarm time.
Crystal: Acrylic crystal recently installed
Movement: Manual winding A. Schild 1475 badged and adjusted for Tudor. You’ll notice the signature Rolex/Tudor shock protection. Tudor took the AS 1475, a robust and popular alarm movement for the period, and upgraded both its finish and function. It is signed regulated in two positions, a designation that speaks to Tudor and Rolex’s legendary requirements for precision.
