Description

This is a vintage wooden oil cup used by watchmakers to hold the minute amounts of very expensive Swiss watch oil that is needed to clean, oil, and adjust pocket watches and wrist watches.  The flip top is important because even the smallest amount of dust could contaminate the oil.  This is a well loved item, that looks to be made out of oak, though that’s just a guess.  It would look fantastic with a coat of varnish and a new rubber O-ring on the flip top.  You could either clean it up and restore it to its former glory, or simply use it as is.
