Description
Watchmaker combination tool used for warming, annealing, setting roller jewels and pallets, and more. This is a handy multipurpose tool for the bench. I’ve cleaned it up, given it a light oil, and applied a very thin coating of beeswax to protect it from corrosion for years to come. It works as designed, and the spring mechanism operates smoothly. The oak handle has some cracks near where the business end inserts. Though it’s cracked, the tool is very solid; I tried to wiggle the metal post laterally in the handle and it won’t budge. There’s some kind of epoxy or resin that the previous owner applied over some of the cracks. Whatever the repair, it seems to have held up nicely.
Click through the gallery pictures above, I’ve found a copy of the original instructions, which demonstrate how the tool works.
