This piece required genuine replacement parts that were only available directly from Seiko. Accordingly, the watch was recently overhauled and serviced by the Seiko Service Center USA. On return, Seiko warranted the piece to keep time within +/- 15 to 20 seconds per day. These movements are capable of far better than that, so as with every watch that we sell, we have finely regulated the movement. It is presently keeping good time at approximately -2 seconds per day.
During Seiko’s servicing, all of the gaskets were changed. This watch passed my testing for water resistance on the Elma Leak Tester, so it is safe for regular use near water (washing hands, dishes, etc). It has not been depth tested. With all vintage watches, though, it is a good idea not to submerge; water resistance is neither warranted nor guaranteed due to the age of the piece.
