LISTING IS FOR ONE BAND. YOU CAN CHOOSE THE COLOR. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION!
Vintage, new old stock (NOS) pigskin leather watch bands/straps. These look great on all vintage watches, but particularly on the vintage military style and chronograph watches. These were purchased from a jeweler who retired after many years in the business; once they are gone, I cannot get any more. So get your order in today!
Measurements: The bands measure 17mm by the ruler, though they fit 16mm lugs well too. The buckle side is 7cm long and tapers down to 9mm; it takes a 14mm buckle. The side with the holes in it is 11cm long and tapers down to 8mm at the very tip. They have a single sliding keeper, and the pigskin is nice and supple. You can see an example of the band installed on a vintage Universal Geneve military style watch; the watch has 16mm lugs, so you can see that it’s a great fit. The watch is NOT included for sale, it’s for example only.
Color: In their natural state, the bands are a beautiful natural tan color. I can also treat these bands with a special leather conditioning formula. It comes out as a nice rich, vintage brown color. If you would like your band treated, I am happy to do so at no extra charge. Just request this in the comments section at check out. If you do not leave me a comment, I will ship the natural tan color band by default.
Buckle: These bands will ship with gold tone buckles as shown in the picture. If you require a silver buckle, most watchmakers or jewelry store should be able to swap this part out for you for a very reasonable price. Alternatively, you can use a Cape Cod polishing cloth, and with a few minutes of work, it’s possible to remove the gold coating, revealing the stainless steel underneath. Please note that Cape Cod cloths contain a special chemical that serves to break down metal; when you use them to polish something, the reason that they do such a good job is because they are actually removing a small amount of material to reveal a smooth, scratch free finish underneath. That’s the logic here.
These are handmade products so you should expect some variation in color and overall leather finish; this is part of the charm of a handmade product and should not be considered a defect. I’m happy to include standard size spring bars with your order. Just request them in the comments section at check out.
