Description
In addition to being a super cool, Super Compressor dive watch, this piece is notable for two things: 1) it’s remarkably well preserved condition, and 2) the addition of the “Cape-Horn” script on the dial at 6 O’clock. While Hamilton Super Compressors are not too difficult to find, most of the examples contain no script at 6 O’clock. Occasionally, you’ll find examples designated “automatic”. The “Cape-Horn” designation is rather unusual and makes these particular examples highly collectible and distinctive in the world of vintage Super Compressors. Our friends over at Worn & Wound did a nice write up on the Super Compressor case and rounded up many cool examples from various manufacturers. They feature a Hamilton “automatic”. Here’s the link.
